In hopes of uncovering the secrets of life without the risk of being destroyed by my own creation, I undertook to construct a fit subject for reanimation that was smaller than my foot. I succeeded. Here we see the monster's carapace just after I inserted its brain, and then closed up. The brain was the only human component, from a stillborn foetus I purloined from a relative's hospital ward.
My original plan was to make the monster self-impregnating, by attaching portions of a second female abdomen over the top of its original male abdomen, including on one side an additional row of legs. When that plan failed, and the monster proved sterile, I was forced to create for it a monstrous simulacrum of a penis, made of many claws, rising from its head like a tower of pain.
But for my monster to reproduce, I realised I would need to create a mate for it, and so I repeated my previous pseudomedical blasphemies to create its 'bride'. Conception occurred successfully, to all appearances, but to my horror the young spread all throughout her body, developing inside her own tissues. Here you see several reaching out from her crevices.
A closer look at the limbs and even face that have grown from her own flesh and broken through her own skeleton. As far as I can tell, none has yet achieved viability. This one is closest to escaping its mother and living on its own. I have lost hope for the mother's survival. She will die, eaten from within, but perhaps there will remain... the Spawn of Crabenstein
